Hello all, I come to you looking for some advice concerning a really annoying and persistent issue with my new UMC22 (a few days old).(12-22-2018, 05:08 PM)ronsfi Wrote: What a piece of crap. So, I'm in an apartment building (college student) and I run some KRK Rokit 6. I use XLR to TRS 1/4" connection from each speaker, and run them into the UMC22. I also made sure that my PC (custom built desktop), speakers, and monitor are all connected to the same power strip to avoid ground loop issues. My issue is that I'm getting some very obvious USB interference noise (crackly white noise with digital, saw-wave-esque undertones that are fairly high pitched). It isn't super loud, but it is quite noticeable from my normal listening position when there's either no or very quiet audio playback. Also, the sound is present only in the cones, not the tweeters. I have tried to troubleshoot using my old audio interface (M-Audio MobilePre), and my laptop. ![]() ![]() Also tried different power and audio cables which didn't have an effect. You may also know that Mixbus is based upon Ardour, an open source DAW.I previously started a review with Ardour, and stopped due to some issues that made it not possible for me to work efficiently. Nothing about the way my cables are arranged changes, I just swap the USB to my laptop and that's it. If you follow this blog then you’d know that I’ve been reviewing mixbus for 30 days (more like 2.5 months). Sometimes the hardware latency introduced by your A/D and D/A hardware isnt reported correctly to Mixbus. I even tried connecting the laptop to the power strip to charge to see if it would send any noise to the speakers, but it didn't change anything. When running my speakers from the MobilePre interface using my desktop, the digital noise in the cone also isn't present. So, the problem is only present in the specific scenario where I combo the UMC22 with my desktop. I've tried every USB port, and uninstalling/reinstalling drivers to no avail. ![]()
